Pine Tree Body Piercing is a private, appointment-based, full-service body piercing studio based in Portland, Maine. Our jewelry is exclusively curated to be the highest quality and value possible; and sourced from people we actually know and trust. All services provided are fully disposable to ensure the safest experience possible.

Hey guys! I finally went ahead and did the thing I have been saying I want to do for a decade now: I opened my own shop in Portland, Maine.

Originally from Binghamton, NY, I started working at a great piercing studio there in 2007. I began piercing in 2009 and have been all over New England, the greater North East Region, and have been able to travel all over the place working as a guest at prestigious studios and touring with premium jewelry manufacturers.

A lot has changed in the world, and in body piercing, in those years. Everything has become a product and an image to be bought and sold. Living intentionally becomes harder with each passing moment as we surround ourselves with products and messages glorifying consumption; and piercing has not been spared this fate. More and more it is harder to distinguish what is real; what is quality; and who to trust to provide the highest level of expertise a craft has to offer.

With this project I would like to make a few statements of commitment to our clients and the piercing industry as a whole.

The first is that I refuse to shrink myself and what I offer to the wonderful people that share this space with me in order to be more palatable to some flat chic or feigned luxury aesthetic. We will provide a truly quality experience in a unique space, surrounded by carefully and sustainably curated things. Our jewelry will only come from people I have actually met and worked with; be sourced as locally as possible, and never from some corporate umbrella company. We are also working to eliminate plastic use and waste in our studio in as many safe ways as possible. I promise to never use a fake customer service voice and always speak to you, work with you, and listen to you as not only my client, but as part of my community, in good faith, like a person. Real connections come from real intentions and surroundings and actions. I will continue, as I always have, to welcome other piercers into the space to shadow and share ideas, to uphold community values between piercers, and to remind anyone here that badmouthing other studios is not welcome. This is a safe space for everyone; unless you have a problem with safe spaces, then I would suggest you take your business elsewhere. I commit to doing everything I can to make this the coolest piercing studio that I can.

Testimonials

Longevity, resilience, health, utility, resistance, purity, and endurance even in the harshest of climates; the pine tree is an ancient symbol and resource shared by the innumerable cultures that have developed along side them. We proudly relate to the trees themselves, symbolically and practically, and honor their presence in our lives and traditions.
